After graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Communications, Carrick was selected 33rd overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was later traded to the Utah Jazz and eventually made his way to be a part of the Warriors basketball organization.

In his second year he suffered a horrific knee injury that many thought would end his career. For 3 years he fought his way through tremendous adversity and eventually found his way back onto an NBA court in 2017 with the Washington Wizards. Carrick also played internationally with Melbourne United in Australia and was able to clinch a championship in the process. Finishing his career with three championships under his belt, it’s safe to say that hard work does pay off.

Carrick’s basketball story is one of adversity and triumph. But it’s not his only story. His focus now is on life after basketball. Carrick is an active investor in property and tech. He has created his own app called ZNGIT, an online concierge service for outdoor recreational equipment. Most importantly and with the help of speaking opportunities during his basketball career, Carrick realized his real passion and purpose lies in serving others.

Carrick created IMC with one goal – to teach each individual the mindset and tools it takes to achieve their highest level of success. Through motivational speaking, Carrick is helping others to understand their true purpose. His unique ability to connect with his audience allows him to deliver powerful messages and inspires them by demonstrating what it means to beat the odds. Since creating IMC in late 2018, Carrick has been featured in the Washington Post; has speaking engagements with the National Collegiate Athletic Association; and has spoke at TEDx events internationally.

Throughout all of Carrick’s success both on and off the court, he has maintained a strong understanding of the importance of giving back, whether it be to the youth, aspiring sports people or those less fortunate. Recently he used his platform to raise money to feed 100 less fortunate families for Thanksgiving. Carrick inspires audiences by demonstrating what it means to beat the odds and encourages listeners to use teamwork to achieve their goals.

Carrick's life has been characterized by incredible perseverance and great skill. From being bullied, teachers telling him he would never graduate high school or be able to go to college, being the manger on the freshman basketball team, becoming a young dad and being homeless, he managed to succeed while others predicted he would fail. He gave more, even when less would have been satisfactory. “All Heart” is the story of a young man guided by fierce determination.
